Important notice to our customers on maintenance service availability for marine electronics

Dear Sirs/Madams,
We thank you very much for your trust and continued support.
We have been informing you of the current status on maintenance service availability for our products (product/model names, point of product discontinuation, and current spare parts availability status) that we no longer manufacture, based upon the guideline from the Japanese Marine Equipment Association (JSMEA) document, "Guidelines for Navigation and Radio Communication Equipment Maintenance".
Now, we are pleased to announce that, from this time onward, we shall enhance the contents, hence providing you with piece of mind in using our products already installed on the craft you have.
1. Information about the products, the service maintenance of which is expected to become unavailable will be covered
The product list included, in principle with some exceptions, only the products which service maintenance was no longer available. However, the list shall be extended to include more products which service maintenance is still available but its availability is expected to expire shortly.
2. Information about the products for fishery as well as leisure marine market segments will be added
We have, hitherto, disclose the information about maintenance service availability of the products oriented solely for merchant marine market. However, we shall disclose the information about maintenance service availability of all the products regardless of the market segments the products are oriented toward.
3. More frequent update of the information
We have, hitherto, updated the information twice a year. However, from this time onward, we shall update the information three times a year to provide you with more accurate information about the status. Please note, however, that we may not be able to avoid the situation where support for certain products may be difficult to be provided, solely dependent when the information is updated.
4. Service maintenance
For service maintenance availability of the products oriented for ocean-going merchant marine market, we have, in principle, secure 10 years after their production is terminated. For the products oriented toward fishery as well as leisure marine market segments, we have secured several years of service maintenance availability after the termination of production. Nevertheless, we shall try our utmost to provide service maintenance of the product as far as possible, but please note that this shall solely depend upon availability of the spare parts, which may be rather difficult to secure the stock. If such is the case, we may well present you with alternative solution. We thank you very much indeed for your understanding.
