eRideOPUS 9 is a GNSS receiver chip designed for V2X and autonomous driving (Level 2 to Level 3) systems.
It receives L1 and L5 signals on a single chip and achieves 50cm position accuracy to enable lane-level navigation.
Since it does not require reference station data or correction data unlike PPP nor RTK receivers, it provides stable and highly accurate positioning (50cm) without regional restrictions, and has zero running cost.
L5 signal used in combination with L1 signals reduce the effects of multipath in urban areas. The L5 signal has a wider frequency bandwidth, an improved signal structure, and are transmitted at a higher power than L1 signals, which make them more resilient and allow for a more stable reception.

  • 50cm DRMS position accuracy allows for lane-level navigation

    In V2X applications, it is required to determine in which lane the vehicle is driving. In autonomous driving (Level 2 to Level 3) systems, the absolute position information can be used as a reference to accomplish localization through cameras, LiDAR devices, and HD maps. eRideOPUS 9 allows reliable lane positioning, including on narrower lanes (approximately 3m wide).
  • Extended Carrier Aiding Technology

    eRideOPUS9 integrates Furuno's proprietary Extended Carrier Aiding technology. It is a stand-alone on-chip function which does not have any running costs unlike the RTK and PPP technologies, which rely on extended networks of reference stations and the reception of correction data.
    With its excellent cost performance, eRideOPUS 9 will greatly contribute to the develpment of V2X and autonomous driving (Level 2 to Level 3) systems.
  • Dead Reckoning

    High-precision location information is generated by connecting a 6-axis inertial sensor and feeding in vehicle speed pulses.
  • Dual-band, Multi GNSS

    eRideOPUS 9 supports all navigation satellite systems currently in operation from U.S. (GPS), Russia (GLONASS), Europe (Galileo), China (BeiDou), Japan (QZSS), and India (NavIC), as well as augmentation systems (SBAS).
    In addition to L1 signals, it receives L5 signals as well.
    The L5 signals improve positioning accuracy in environments where radio waves are reflected or diffracted by structures, like in urban areas.
    In addition, the L5 signals have a wider frequency bandwidth, an improved signal structure, and are transmitted at a higher power than L1 signals, which make them more resilient and allow for a more stable reception in harsh environments.
  • Anti-Jamming, Anti-Spoofing

    To be used for applications that require stable positioning information, eRideOPUS9 includes enhanced durability against jamming and spoofing.
    It is also equipped with a function to detect such attacks and report them to the ECU.
  • Time pulse output (1PPS)

    eRideOPUS 9 provides a time pulse output to allow a highly accurate synchronization between different devices and systems in an application.
    It provides highly accurate 1PPS synchronized with GPS time even at high-speed driving.
  • RAW DATA output

    eRideOPUS 9 outputs GNSS and the 6-axis inertial sensor RAW data for users who want to use their original or third-party positioning engines.
  • With eMRAM, no flash memory required

    eRideOPUS 9 has eMRAM embedded on the chip, which contains the firmware and allows for firmware upgrades. There is no need for an external flash memory.
