Features

Supporting worldwide GNSS (L1 and L5 bands) *L5 band is available only for AU-500.

These antennas are designed to enable GNSS receivers to perform at their full potential even under harsh environments such as weather and interference. They provide safety and security for critical infrastructure systems such as 5G mobile base stations, TV broadcasting, PTP grand master clocks, power grids and various types of business radio systems, where service outages are not tolerated. AU-500 is a dual-band antenna supporting L1 and L5, while AU-300 is a single-band antenna supporting only L1.

Integrated ground plane and harsh environment protection

The built-in gound plane improves sensitivity and reduces the effects of interference and multipath. They are also equipped with a high-quality polymer radome that prevents snow accumulation, is waterproof and dustproof in compliance with IP67. Quality tests simulating harsh environments have verified the antenna's long-term protection against rain, snow, sea water, ultraviolet rays, chemicals, and gases.

Superior Out of Band Filtering

A built-in noise filter effectively eliminates interference in the vicinity of 1.5 GHz caused by 4G/LTE mobile base stations as well as other radio waves (satellite communications, etc.) that can adversely affect GNSS reception.

Built-in Lightning protection

Lightning protection compliant with IEC61000-4-5 protects the antenna from lightning surges.

High water resistance

The antenna structure has been designed with superior water resistance to minimise field problems due to heavy rain and flooding.

Standard TNC Connection

Highest robustness in combination with Furuno's GNSS receivers GT-100/9001/90/88 & GF880x series

AU-500 and AU-300 achieve their best performance when combined with Furuno's GNSS receivers (GT-100/9001/90/88 & GF-880x series). Time accuracy and robustness, required for critical infrastructure, can be achieved by the Furuno receivers themselves, such as dual-band reception, multipath mitigation using Dynamic Satellite Selection™*, and anti-jamming function, but are further enhanced when combined with Furuno's high-performance antennas

  • Multipath mitigation technology based on an algorithm developed by NTT

Easy installation when used with Furuno's Antenna Mounting Kit AFB-01

The AFB-01 ensures correct installation of the GNSS antenna to prevent poor reception and enable the GNSS receiver to perform as it should.

Coaxial lightning arrestor to protect GNSS receiver from lightning surges (optional)

In environments which demand continuous operation such as critical infrastructure, the optional coaxial lightning arrestor protects not only the antenna itself but also the GNSS receiver from lightning surges. TVA-05V is designed for induced lightning surges, and provide the highest lightning surge protection performance by proper grounding.

Antenna Installation

Antenna installation procedure

This video provides a clear explanation of the installation procedure for the GNSS antennas AU-500/300, from checking the components and tools to the actual installation at the site.

Three essential points when installing a GNSS antenna

When installing a GNSS antenna, components such as the coaxial cables and amplifiers should be selected to satisfy the antenna specifications of the GNSS receiver. It is also necessary to consider the propagation delay between the antenna and the receiver.

In the following document, we explain how to calculate the required specification values with concrete examples from the viewpoint of a GNSS receiver manufacturers.

It is especially useful for those who are new to GNSS receivers. We have prepared an Excel tool for calculating "Total Gain" and "Total NF" due to their complex formulas.
