Exploring the origins of fish finders and the principles behind their technology.
By combining Split Beam technology with FURUNO's TruEcho CHIRP™, we have achieved higher-resolution target images and accurate fish size detection even in situations that require high distance resolution, such as detecting fish size in densely packed schools within the mid-surface layer zone, or to discriminate single fish near the seabed.
The FCV-2100-MARK-2 measures the size and distribution of fish in the selected school, and displays this information in a graph that can be understood at a glance. TruEcho CHIRP™ technology has improved the accuracy and reliability of fish size measurements and graphs.
Size of fish is estimated from the reflection intensity of a single fish.
To accurately measure the reflection intensity of a single fish, it is necessary to measure the direction and position of the single fish within the beam. The split beam method uses four transmitting and receiving channels to accurately identify the direction and position of a single fish within the beam angle, and provides more accurate size of fish than conventional methods.
The FCV-2100-MARK-2 can measure and display fish sizes in three locations at the same time. This allows you to compare and analyze fish size and school composition, which makes for more efficient fishing, such as aiming for fish of a particular size.

The FCV-2100-MARK-2 can be operated easily and quickly with its trackball. The screen header also contains Range, Shift, Sensitivity, Image Feed, and Display Mode menus that can be immediately accessed when required. Other functions can also be accessed immediately by setting them in the InstantAccess bar™ as desired*.
A maximum of 99 still images can be saved on the processor unit. The maximum number that can be saved externally depends on the capacity of the external recording medium*. Echo data can also be saved to an external medium with a capacity of 500 GB or more*.
By scrolling the screen back, you can review past images. A very useful feature for when you want to see a school of fish that has passed by.
By identifying the approximate size of the targeted fish beforehand, the FCV-2100-MARK-2 enables selective fishing, making fishing operations more efficient.
Up to three echo images at different frequencies can be displayed in one screen.
The differences in responses for each fish species are clearly visible at a glance, which helps in identifying and estimating the species.
The heave correction function enables the ability to show you an unwavering presentation of the seabed, without undulations caused by sea conditions.
